I forgot to put on deodorant today.

Interesting revelation for my first post, right? Well, that’s my life in a nutshell. So full of awesome chaos that I forget to do something so basic. Let me set the scene … morning after a 3-day weekend filled with rain. At 5am crying 1-year old, Baby O, can’t find paci. Without waking up, I sprint down the hall, find paci, give to baby, and jump back in bed hoping for a 20 more minutes of sleep. Dream interrupted by the sound of my alarm. 9-minute snooze button pressed. {Sidebar: what is up with a 9 minute snooze? Who came up with that number? Not 5, not 10, but 9. Totally random. Sidebar over} Half asleep, I jump in the shower and get the day started. Baby O starts crying again and thankfully hubby gets up and takes care of O with a clean diaper, clothes, and a bottle. Buys me 10 minutes to do make-up, actually dry my hair, and get dressed for work. Since I’m now 9-minutes late (thanks to the “snooze’), I run downstairs, feed dogs, pack sheets and blankets for daycare naptime, get breakfast ready, find some food for my lunch, and make cup of coffee. 6:15 and it’s time to wake up my 3 1/2 year old, Q. With Baby O on my hip, we wake Q up, rationalize with him to get out of bed and go potty, then get him dressed and downstairs. 2 sets of shoes on feet, Nutrigrain bars in mouths, essentials in car. Kiss hubby/daddy goodbye before he gets ready for a business trip, and the 3 of us are loaded in the car for our 30-minute commute to daycare, then work.

OK, so, now you see how easy it was to forget something as routine as deodorant? Ha, that’s just a glimpse into my fabulously crazy life. I’m a mom of 2 boys, Baby O is a 1-year old non-stop, energy-packed smiling baby, and Q is a 3 1/2 year old intelligent, inquisitive, quirky preschooler. Wife to Hubby P, who has known me since high school and loves me anyway. I work full-time in marketing for a well-known company and have this creative side that likes to break through with lots of little DIY projects. I guess this blog will be the tales of my balancing act as mom, wife, professional, and more.

Hi, I’m Allison. Welcome to my new blog. I hope that you enjoy the drama :-)
